LAX-based Flight Attendants Liz (Mostert) Nash & Susan Picking are two Southern California singer/songwriters. There are many facets to the 1,500-plus Flight Attendants within our work group, and we can count these two shining stars as "one of us." On March 14, 2008, Liz Nash & AFA LAX Council 12 members gathered for "Coffee, Tea, & Liz Nash" in Long Beach. Flight Attendants met for an evening of entertainment by our own Liz Nash. On February 22, 2008, Susan Picking celebrated her first CD release, "Down In Your Soul" with dozens -- including Flight Attendants (alongside her family & friends) supporting her at The Madison in Long Beach, California. Flight Attendants chatted, relaxed, and had a great time (think: layover at home!) - see photos from Susan's release party below.

Liz Nash Mini Bio Liz Nash, a singer/songwriter originally from New York continues with her vision of jazz/pop/blues originals carving the music of the future one fan at a time. Her music has been featured on HBO and has received honorable mentions in “Billboard” under jazz.   She would perform regularly at “Surf Reality” in the Lower East Side know for their eccentric performance art which eventually led her to her first recognition. Since then, she's played in many venues in California, South America, and Europe. Liz says, “I would like to continue to collaborate with other artists that I admire as well as continue working with the TV and film community.”   With her alluring voice and unique brand of jazz finger-style techniques has mesmerized audiences all over the world. This unconventional musical nomad has attracted, performed and recorded with top musicians. With her extensive travel and guitar in hand, she has profoundly committed herself to share her gift of song.

Susan Picking Mini Bio   Susan Picking, a Long Beach singer/songwriter, grew up in Michigan playing the piano and cello. She moved out West to California and began studying voice, which reawakened her interest in music. This led her to study music privately and at Long Beach City College.   She started writing her own music about 5 years ago. Her Irish Roots drew her to traditional Irish and Sean Nos singing, which is still a great love. Her major musical influences are 70's folk rock with the likes of Carole King, James Taylor, Van Morrison, and Billy Joel. Other musical genres creep in with her overall love of music with the super Greats such as Ray Charles and Willie Nelson. Contemporary idols are Norah Jones and Diana Krall.   “Down in Your Soul” is her first release consisting of 10 songs that are spiritual in nature and about the journey of life and the lessons within. Susan can be seen and heard locally in Southern California and the L.A. Basin.
