Taking A Stand With American Airlines Flight Attendants
By Darren Shiroma, AFA Los Angeles Local President
American Airlines APFA Flight Attendants pledge their support to our contract negotiations as well
[11.18.09] -- United AFA Flight Attendants turned out at American Airlines airports across the United States in support of American APFA Flight Attendants in the fight for their Contract Negotiations. Here at LAX, dozens of Los Angeles Council 12 members picketed alongside over 350 American Airlines Flight Attendants in a show of solidarity.
Flight Attendants at American have been in negotiations for 18 long months (with nearly 100 bargaining sessions). American Airlines management's "Zero Sum" proposals ("this for that" concessionary mentality) is akin to our United Airlines management's demands. This, all the while American Airlines executives take multimillion dollar bonuses and raises. Sound familiar?
